Michael Wolivar profile continued...
After receiving his degree from Washburn University, Mike worked for U.S. Senator Bob Dole as a staff member on the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee in Washington D.C. After working for Senator Dole, Mike pursued a career as an Officer in the Marine Corps.
While serving in the Marine Corps, Mike sustained a job ending training injury. He then entered the private sector pursuing a career in the security and investigative industries. He initially worked for private investigators, investigative companies and security businesses that serviced the entertainment sector.
From 1995 to 2007, Mike established, owned and managed a successful investigative and physical surveillance business, Wolivar & Associates, Inc., that employed up to fourteen employee-investigators and surveillance operatives. During those twelve years of ownership, there were no lawsuits or violations of local, state or federal business laws and regulations.
In 1998, Mike wrote and published an article titled, Choosing the Right People: Cost Effective Surveillance-Investigations, which was published in the insurance industry’s flagship magazine, Claims Magazine.
The Wolivar & Associates, Inc. brand was known for superior quality litigation investigations, high-end clientele and trusted confidentiality. After twelve years of ownership, in 2007, Mike sold Wolivar & Associates, Inc. to a large investigative corporation.
From 2007 to 2011 Mike contracted and worked for two national investigative firms, serving as Vice-President for one company, spending time overseeing investigations and surveillance operations in western states.
Mike then developed, along with his former Director of Operations for Wolivar & Associates, Inc., a new service line investigating high volume claims for two of the largest private mortgage companies, MGIC and PMI Insurance Company. Mike secured both PMI companies as clients.
The PMI claims were voluminous following the 2008 financial fall out. The PMI service line required field investigators nationwide to investigate home loan applications for fraud and collect credible evidence, all in a short turn around time.
If evidence of fraud was found during the investigation, the claim was usually denied by the client PMI company. The revenue success of the PMI service line was noted by the national investigation company’s CEO in public broadcasts of the quarterly earning’s reports. Private equity eventually purchased both national investigative companies.
In 2011, Mike Wolivar re-established Wolivar & Associates, Inc. with a focus on high-level physical surveillance services to support sensitive investigations and security matters. He continues to provide investigations for several long-term client litigation attorneys.
Mike has been a trusted private investigator and security consultant for several High-Net-Worth families, celebrities and public figures to include the late Mr. Ed Snider of Montecito, California.
Clients have also included insurance companies American International Group, Chubb, Zurich, MetLife, Liberty Mutual and Traveler’s; Third Party Administrators included Sedgwick and Gallagher Basset; law firms included Denton’s, Latham Watkins, Baker & McKenzie, Greenberg Glusker and Gibson Dunn; and Chief Security Officers and General Counsel for Fortune 500 companies.
From 2012 to 2014, Mike was a sub-contractor to Altegrity Risk International where he personally conducted covert physical surveillance on an as needed basis, assisting U.S. Federal Agents. Altegrity had the primary contract with the federal government.
